Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament from Jamnagar Poonam Madam was on Monday injured after she fell into a drain while meeting slum dwellers of Jalaram locality during a demolition drive by civic authorities.
Two members of a famous family are fighting against each other for the Jamnagar seat in Gujarat. Bharatiya Janata Party's young candidate, Poonam Madam, the sitting MLA from Khambhaliya, is pitted against her uncle and Congress Member of Parliament, Vikram Madam, who has been an MP since the last two terms.
In 2014 too, the Congress had lost all the 26 seats in Gujarat.
